They sift through fragrances half-blind;
They’re clueless of the missed delights—
The endless flavors that I savor—
And call their blindness “smelling”!
What joy, to be a dog!
To turn each stone with wild delight,
And taste of fragrances untold;
To see, to touch, to truly know,
Now that’s what I’d call “smelling”!
Humans are so clueless!
They cannot see the joys they miss;
They gulp down bliss and miss the taste
Because they look for something else,
And call their denseness “living”!
What life, to be a dog!
To savor every joy God brings,
And smell each gift we come across;
To live each moment to the fullest,
Now that’s what I’d call “living”!
Humans are so blind!
They chain themselves to concrete benches,
And chant religious nonsense;
They’re clueless of the scent of heaven
And call their nonsense “faith”!
What bliss, to be a dog!
To chase the scent of angel’s wings,
Wherever they may wander;
To follow the trail that takes me home,
Now that’s what I’d call “faith”!
