Thank you for this blessing,
For kindling this flame,
May all that I compose,
Give glory to your name.
Mold me in your image,
Help me hone my skill,
Grant me the discernment,
To always write your will.
Shield me from temptation,
That I will not be swayed,
To try to please the world,
And chase the latest craze.
Plant in me your spirit,
So I may bear your fruit,
Spreading the Good News,
With words that speak the truth.
Guide me down the pathway,
Though narrow it may be,
That leads to life abundant,
Should someone follow me.
Guard my imagination,
Keeping it in line,
With your Holy Word,
Always on my mind.
Help me to be patient,
When words elude my pen,
That I will trust in you,
And find my craft again.
Whatever I may write,
Whatever I may do,
Nothing will compare,
To the hope I have in you.
