Through the black shadows of the night
A myriad stars cast their radiant light.
On every sleeping soul lost in the dark
Of hopeless sin and lives so stark:

Your greatness shines.


An ice-covered summit towers to the sky
With majestic crags soaring far up high.
To all preoccupied on empty plains below
Not lifting eyes to the heights they could know:

Your power echoes.


Constant crashing waves assault the shore
Their surge and ebb a steady roar.
Around each person who trails those sands
And a fleeting moment in wonder stands:

Your immortality flows.


Thunder rumbles as the lightning’s wrath
Lights up the sky in a jagged path.
To those who quake in its grip of primal fear
Over the storm’s fury rings a warning clear:

Your judgement tolls.


A prism of colour arcs through the rain
The promise that sunlight will follow again.
For despair-filled lives weighed down by grief
The hint of assurance that pain is but brief:

Your hope glimmers.


Autumn leaves rustle in a gentle breeze
As an unseen force enfolds the trees.
To those who lift faces at its tender caress
The unknown embrace of arms seeking to bless:

Your love whispers.


Creation’s voices all proclaim
“Your King is here, cry to His name!”
A heart heeds its call, an awe-filled “Ohhh…”
And into one life truth starts to flow.

Your joy dances.
