Instead of shades of brown;
There’d be fuchsia fights
When sparks ignite
For holding violet down.
Imagine violet gangs
Taught to hate magenta friends;
Add a touch of pride,
Colors divide;
A gash that transcends.
Magentas might view lilacs
As tones to patronize--
A pale pinkish face
Deserves disgrace--
And hope for their demise.
Could lilacs comprehend
A hatred so intense
That twists into shame,
And who’s to blame;
Who comes to pink’s defense?
Picture pink the outcast
Among the purple nation;
Hear united cries
As tensions rise
From their tribulation.
What if their veil was lifted
To see they’re all the same;
Blue, white, and red
Form purple threads
Given different names.
What if skin came purple,
And eyes came colorblind,
And hearts were changed,
And love exchanged;
Like quilts they’d be combined.
A perfect painter's palette,
Spread with the Master’s hand;
Harmonious hues
Of lavender blues,
Or earth tones as he planned.
