The brilliant sparks of holy light;
I see His stars shine far above me,
And bow before Him in my fright—
For all I see is holiness
And I have tasted of the night…
There’s nothing left, but death itself
For I have touched God’s perfect hand
Within my sin I am not worthy
And in my darkness, cannot stand.
For He’s the great Creator
And I am but a grain of sand…
But from God’s altar comes an angel
Who offers me a burning coal—
God gives me His refining fire
So I can burn, and be made whole.
I have to give up all my sin
So He can purify my soul…
All I can see is burning fire,
A choice to kiss a world of black;
But I need God, or I will die,
There is no way I can turn back—
I choose to give all I must give,
I’ll take the fire so I may live.
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is Jehovah of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphim unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: and he touched my mouth with it, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin forgiven.
