Unceasingly, cruelly, putting your life
On the piles at the local dump.
Emotional pain is equally cruel,
Just hidden from everyone’s sight
While you fight the life-threatening duel.
Why me? Why me? I’d like to be free.
Is there purpose in this?
I want to be free to be me!
Who’s me? There’s a function for pain.
It draws one’s attention to need.
You are not alone. The refrain
Is a mortal, eclectic, physical scream.
You are part of a fallen creation,
A lost, rediscoverable dream.
Your pain is a map permitted by God
To turn back your thoughts
To His wonderful, princely intention on hold
For a time. Will you leave your agenda
And fold into His bigger plan,
Become part of His dream, His splendour?
Let your pain be the signpost to Jesus.
He heals and embraces each one
Who trusts Him above others.
It’s astounding to find, when you know Him,
You’re glad that that signpost
Of pain was there, directing
Your eyes beyond normal, physical sight
Into the world of Heaven’s love.
Now you’re seeing right.
Do you realize without the pain
You’d have missed the whole point
Of connecting with our Creator again?

That part stood out to me, having been one who has suffered from depression in the past. I like your message of hope in this. Thank you for sharing.
