And swam in poison you called bliss—
To lie within another’s arms
And steal the sweet forbidden kiss…
Dear, come back home, this poison kills—
You hurt me, but I love you still…
You’re split from all your luxuries,
God’s stripped you like a child just born—
And torn from days of sweet perfume
The men you chased treat you with scorn…
You’re free to come home, if you will,
You hurt me, but I love you still…
My prodigal, if you turn home,
You’ll find my arms are open wide—
The storms you face are in your life
To bring your heart back to my side…
I know the pain’s a bitter pill—
It calls you home! I love you still…
And when you come back home, my Dear,
Forgiveness will bind us once more—
In love’s reunion we’ll find peace,
As grace into our lives is poured…
Of sweeter bliss you’ll drink your fill,
For through it all I’ve loved you still!

The meter of one line troubled me, however.
Forgiveness will bind us once more—
So with full knowledge of being presumptuous, for which you should feel free to chide me, I offer the following, just as a possible starting point for contemplation.
And when you come back home, my Dear,
Forgiveness will in one accord
Bind love’s reunion, bringing peace,
As grace into our lives is poured…
