The roof caved in, our memories
Are swirls within a cyclone;
I picked the shards out of my soul
While snow blew through the broken walls
And all have left my heart to freeze…
What went wrong?
Yet now I see how it began,
It started with a single blow—
Within the crack resentment festered,
It starting spreading through the walls,
Until one day, the roof caved in
And sprinkled all our hearts with snow…
Who’s to blame?
Each one of us took shovels
And dug a gorge between our hearts
Where we should build a bridge instead;
The bond between a pair of siblings
Is what makes home a happy place
Or broken, tears the home apart…
Why this pain?
But even now we have a choice
To take the tools of grace, and build
A home of harmony and peace;
And as our hearts are bound as one
We smell the fresh-baked apple pie
And taste of love as lives are filled…
This is home…
