Which echo as they fall in place
As if a chain of dominos
Was knocked away from my embrace…
The memories fall one by one,
As vivid as the ocean’s voice;
’Twas you who made each one, with love,
Since I was just a care-free boy…
You loved this place; so much, in fact,
The waves themselves have sung your dirge;
And here I listen to the song
And dreams of you become an urge…
I know you’ll walk this beach again,
But all life’s cares won’t wear you down;
The moon will sparkle bright with joy,
The waves will sing a different tune…
My heart is stinging with my pain,
But it’s not mingled with despair,
Because forever is our hope:
We can’t imagine all that God’s prepared…
And someday…
Someday…
Love will take us home…
And it’s this hope that makes us strong…
For now, my hope is joined by tears,
I join the ocean’s lonely song…
I miss you, Grandma…

Absolutely beautiful. Well done.
I appreciate you sharing this, and I am sure that your grandmother is looking down smiling at you and this wonderful tribute to her.
