I cannot believe that choir director didn’t pick me for the lead in this year’s Easter cantata. I nailed that audition. He knows that I am absolutely the best vocalist in the church.
My child, I gave you that voice and I do want you to use it for My glory. However, you are not the only child of Mine that can sing. Share the spotlight this time.
Well, if they don’t want me as lead, then they won’t get me at all! I’ll just sit out this year’s cantata. Let’s see who carries the section without me.
Continued musings at home…
I’m starving. Hot fudge, vanilla ice cream, chopped nuts, bowl. Can you believe that my loving husband called me fat this morning? Well, he didn’t actually say ‘fat’. He simply said I need to ‘watch my health’ since momma and granny both have diabetes.
My child, I gave you your husband to lead and protect you. I gave him wisdom to guide you. Listen to him. I’m not quite ready to let you come up here with Me yet.
Well, I’m going to eat what I want, when I want it. I’m not any fatter than the next person.
Final musings after the church business meeting that night…
Who runs this church anyway? For years now, we have given over and above the tithe when most people that sit around me put in a measly five to ten dollars. I was church treasurer for years and I know that we are among the top ten percent of givers here. And now, I suggest that we build a tea room for ladies to gather during the week and they tell me it’s not in the master plan? Believe me when I say, ‘I’ve already paid for it three times over.’ Who do they think they are?
My child, you gave that money to Me, for My purpose. It was not a deposit for your future ideas. You stick with obedience in giving and leave the direction for spending up to My leading. I have better plans for using your gifts than you can ever imagine. No matter what you do or how you feel, I will get My plans accomplished.
Well, I’m going to keep my money until they understand just who they are dealing with. Once they start missing my contribution, they’ll come around.

Then God smiled from heaven and mused Himself. “I think it’s time for a case of laryngitis, upset stomach, and financial challenges.”

I'm no theologian, but I'm not sure that I believe that God intentionally brings bad things to His children. That bothered me a little bit. Like I said, I really don't know...maybe you'll PM me with your thoughts on this?
The entry is deftly written, short and with a real bite. Very good!
While this may or may not fall under the principal of sowing and reaping, or losing the seed because one did not sow it, we are certainly told that we will be accountable if we bury what God has given us to use for His glory.
