There are many avenues to find confidence. According to the internet website, “Dictionary.com,” confidence is the full trust and/or belief in the powers of someone or something. One website, "NZgirl," list 5 songs that are guaranteed to boost your confidence. Sadly, just to name a few, these secular titles, “Can’t touch this” by MC Hammer, “Bootylicious” by Destiny Child and “Don’t Cha” by Pussy Cat Dolls are all songs that promote everything other than confidence. Better still, another website, “BBC Relationships promises confidence through their on-line course. The average person can now pay a fee, and then, magically become a confident, successful individual. In addition, there are more self-help books on improving one’s self-confidence that I if I listed them all, I would go over the word count limit. For the Christian there is only one true path to confidence, by believing in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we can be known as “Confident Christians.”
I am proud to be the mother of four handsome sons, Corey, Spencer, Andrew, and Randy. Plus, being the wife, of 16 years, to my gorgeous husband, Paul, is very rewarding. However, I am not always confident that I am providing for or nurturing my family the way God has instructed. As a novice writer, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to write and have others enjoy my articles. Yet, I am not as confident as I could be for several reasons. One, I have never been paid for my work. Second, no one has ever asked me to write a piece on anything. Third, I have not had the privilege to place in the Editor’s choice for Faithwriters. (Hint…Hint…Wink..Wink)
Seriously, these aspects of my life are important, but not as important as my spiritual walk. I know that I am a child of God and that in His house there are many rooms. I am confident that one of those rooms is mine. Thankfully, the gift of salvation is based on His grace and not on my abilities. Unlike the confidence of parenthood, marriage, friendships, or career, spiritual confidence is free. It is by grace that we become “Confident Christians.”
Professional athletes believe that confidence and ability go hand and hand. In the same way, Christians know that confidence and Christ go side by side. When the prayer of salvation is recited, the individual receives an overwhelming amount of confidence that no matter what this life holds for him, that his eternity is with our Lord. By becoming a “Confident Christian” you will gain eternity, and it won’t cost you as much as those self-help books and classes.

1. It's a good idea to avoid beginning with dictionary definitions.
2. There are several unnecessary commas--eliminating them will improve the flow of this little essay.
I really look forward to reading more from you here--this article is lovely.
I really like this line "the individual receives an overwhelming amount of confidence that no matter what this life holds for him, that his eternity is with our Lord." Allow me to use a cliche here, "Truer words were never spoken." Thanks!
