"What's My Line,"
A popular TV Show
in, I believe '59?
The regular panelists
were Kilgallen and Cerf,
and the third a celebrity,
from either stardom or birth.
Each panelist questions
the Guest for a clue
regarding their craft
and the job that they do?
Sometimes a "no brainer",
other times - Hit and Miss;
but the show was funny
as they'd each try to guess.
"Do you work in an office,
in a truck or a dorm?
Or wear something sudsy
like a pink uniform?"
And so it continues -
with five questions each:
"Do you box, do you bake,
do you fish, paint or teach?"
Guest #1
"Well, I wear a helmet
and a bright flashy suit;
but I'm not from NASCAR
or the clown from a shoot."
"Then you must be the astronaut,
the one they call Neil?"
Who's going to the moon,
to see if it's real?"
1 win for the panel, and 2 more to go
Guest #2
"My clothes are all black
and I scare little kids;
but, I'm not Dick the Bruiser,
nor do I wrestle squids."
The Panel drew blanks
on the "Halloween Witch",
who rides on a broom stick
down to 'ole Grinders Switch.
The score is tied, now one more to go.
Guest #3
Now comes a Guest
who has got them floored;
he tells them he's more powerful,
than a gun, knife or sword.
They question him diligently,
but finally resign,
to the fact they are stymied,
and can't guess His Line.
2 Wins for the Guests, which isn't too bad.
Well, he was a Writer,
like you and I.
but when he shook their hands
he held his pen high...
Saying, "I am a Faithwriter
Yes, "That's My Line",
but God is the Wordcrafter
so...only the pen is mine.

Your last several stanzas are absolutely charming, especially the "only the pen is mine" line. Great set-up, and fantastic kicker.
