A doctor is a marvel
At curing your diseases.
He diagnoses symptoms;
Your suffering he eases.
He gives relief from pressure
For aching that is chronic,
Prescribing pills or powder,
A tincture or a tonic.
He fixes bones and muscles,
And he cuts out what’s not right.
His treatments make you better,
So you rest again at night.
Thank God for all the doctors
With earnest dedication,
Who strive to conquer illness
With care and medication.
For all a doctor’s talents,
There are some things he can’t do.
He can’t mend a broken heart
Or restore your faith to you.
He can’t free you from your guilt.
He can’t wash your sins away.
He can’t give eternal life
Or grant hope for each new day.
But Jesus is the Healer
Sent to you from God above
To heal you from sin sickness
With His everlasting love.
He will free you from your guilt.
He will wash your sins away.
He will give eternal life
And grant hope for each new day.

Usually if a poem doesn't flow well in the first stanza, I don't continue, but this one sucked me in and, before I knew it (or wanted) it was over.
