I saw my love standing before me, a gem of great beauty. I saw the warmth in her eyes, the tenderness of her heart, and I realized, it was but a reflection of an even greater tenderness. That is God's love for her, shining through, to bring light to all those around her.
The full moon is bright and beautiful to look at, but if the sun's reflecting light were removed, it would be nothing more than an unseen shadow in the darkness of space. In the same sense, if I ask for God's glory to shine through me, yet I do not walk in His truth, I remove the purpose of His light, and become nothing more than a dim shadow in the eyes of others.
How then can we minister to others in need, if we are not seen daily to reflect the will of God in our own lives. If we calmly sit back and allow the world to pass over us, our words and actions reflecting the worldly lack of compassion. How then are we different from the rest of the world...?
Many seek the mountain top experience, wanting God's fullness, but they do not realize the true cost. Seeking blessing after blessing, yet not wanting the trials in which those blessings are made known to the rest of the world as a sign of God's glory. It is nothing more than the dim reflected shadow of the world's down fall.
On the mountain top, it is cold and bare, with compassion for none but its own. . . Even in the sun light there is little warmth. Yet in the valley there is ever changing life, there is growth. Yes, trials abound, but in those, we seek the greater good that heals, guides, and protects every moment of the day. In the midst of those struggles we look to God.
The mountains are beautiful to behold, seeing the greatness of the One who made them. But, if you are seeking a greater blessing of the Creator, life goes on in the Valley.
My Prayer....
I praise Thee Father, for the light of Your love to all mankind.
I pray, Lord, that You always walk at our side, and cause us to stumble if we even begin to stray from You.
I praise You, Lord Jesus, for lighting the path in the way that we must travel for Your righteousness sake.
I pray you make us as breakable glass, that others would see Your light reflected through us, yet if ever I become great in my own eyes, break me that pride be removed.
I pray Lord that You make us as a lighthouse to guide others to Your loving embrace. Judge us Lord, by Your will and way, that we would know we are judged rightly.
I praise Thee Lord Jesus, that You have led me in the way of Your righteousness, and keep me from the hand of evil.
Keep us, Lord, that we may be blessed always, that we might say to the world -- "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:"*
In Your holy name Lord Jesus,
Amen and Amen...

I loved the part of your prayer where you talk about God making us stumble if we step off his path. That was definitely something I needed to hear, and that I had never thought of before! This whole piece - but especially that portion - truly ministered to me!
