“What will become of me?”
I’m tossed ‘round by evil
chained down and can’t get free.
The laughter and the nightmares –
in my mind they race around.
Battle worn and tattered
I lie here on the ground.
Lost, I cannot go on,
I cry out for relief.
But all the goodness I possessed
was taken by the Thief.
I scream out to the heavens,
A rage consumed my mind!
Can no one hear my cry?
Is anybody kind?
The echoes that I hear
Are the same as before.
The rage will continue
building more and more.
Suddenly all is quiet;
I only heard a breeze.
My name I heard it whisper,
And it brought me to my knees.
“I hear that you’ve been calling
I know your troubles well.
There’s a choice you need to make:
is it heaven, or is it hell?”
I’ve never thought about it
I was such a fool.
My life was like a red rag
waved at a raging bull.
Now every day is different,
each shines with the Guiding Light.
Things that used to go so wrong,
God’s healed and made them right.
God reached out and touched me,
calmed my stormy sea,
Eased the rage inside me
unchained, I’m finally free.
