ďWhen the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?Ē (Psalm 11:3 NIV).

As the world escalates its hostile cacophony against the word of God, Christians must ensure they are securely fixed in the truth. If there are no absolutes, then the bible is reduced to just another popular work of fiction, birthing havoc throughout the spectrum of societal elevations. The enemyís most focused attacks are designed to erode away at the foundations upon which our faith rests.

Genesis chapter one is the foremost foundation upon which all scripture is based, revealing the sovereignty of God. Evolution theorists continue to explain away the inconsistencies of purported facts that support their belief. Since such ignorance is so prevalent, it offers the appearance of feasibility, especially among much of the so-called scientific community.

ďÖKeep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.Ē (1 Timothy 6:20 KJV)

Though scientifically, the scales of irrefutable, observable evidence has recently tipped in favor of the bibleís account of creation, many today are caving to pressure and compromising their beliefs to allow for evolutionary origins. What began as an observation of Godís wisdom by creating animals with the ability to ďadaptĒ to their environment, has morphed into a cataclysmic belief that this is proof for evolution.

Faith that saves us from the wrath of God and receives the grace of eternal life is that which includes the entire bible as the infallible, God breathed words of our Creator. And though we can show scientific evidence that the bible is Godís word, this is a gratuitous and needless point, if salvation is truly by faith!

ďFor by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Ē (Ephesians 2:8 KJV)

Either all scripture is entirely true, or it is entirely false. Attempting to conjoin evolution with the bible as Godís means of making the earth and creating life, negates Genesis one. If we attempt to discount any portion of the word of God, we shoot ourselves in both feet. It pulls the rug out from under everything else we believe as Christians, toppling our faith.

In recent years Iíve nearly strained my brain studying scientific evidences for both evolution and for the Genesis account. The bible has won! The evidence that Godís word is 100% accurate, historically, archaeologically and scientifically is overwhelming. Thank God for Christian men more educated than myself, who've helped me understand these sciences with greater clarity. Yet, I've learned that Godís word itself had already thoroughly equipped me to systematically defend my belief. Truth allows us to unapologetically discourse on apologetics, using the bible alone. And we donít have to monkey around with the facts, attempting to make them fit our belief.

ďTruly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." (Mark 10:15 NIV)

I've come full circle in the faith that saves you and me. Itís a childlike faith and one that confirms the truth of the perfect word of God. No science is needed for me to believe. In fact, no amount of physical evidence can give anyone faith. Whatever others say or how things may appear, I know that I can depend upon what the Lord says.

I still like the faith proclaiming bumper sticker I saw years ago, which read: ďGod said itóI believe itóthat settles it!Ē

In a world where nearly nothing is as it appears to be, lying abounds, and we have a crafty deceiver vying for our beliefs, itís comforting to know thereís one thing we can constantly rely on. Itís our instruction manual on how to live our lives in a purposeful and productive way. A way that pleases the Lord Jesus. It is our greatest educational tool, clearly explaining the origin of mankind. Itís the foundation upon which our faith is built. And it is a love letter from our awesome Creator. It is Godís account, straight from the horseís mouth if you willóHis explanation of all that we need to know. It is the Holy Bible.

Itís been settled for me. God said itóI believe it. What an assuring place to be!

ďAll Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.Ē
(2nd Timothy 3:16-17 NIV)

You have eloquently and masterfully presented your argument. I love this, "Itís been settled for me. God said itóI believe it. What an assuring place to be!" Thank you!

Very true and nicely written.

Genesis 1 is sometimes "modified" because of unbelief just as Peter using the keys of the kingdom in Acts 2. This story in Acts relates that when the people listening believed that Jesus was both Lord and Christ they were to repent and be baptized for the remission of their sin and they would be given the gift of the Holy Spirit. This is what made them a Christian.

People who do not believe Acts 2 modify the scriptures to fit what they want to believe.

Are they saved?

Amen and Amen. God's word for me has always been and always will be THE TRUTH, no matter what man tries to say to refute it, I'm with our King all the way!

Thanks for sharing and for your well written entry. Excellent work.
