The sun rose again, you see.
I know I often take for granted
His promises to me.
I assumed again that I would wake,
My lungs would breathe in air.
My eyes would open to the light,
And the world would still be there.
And as I journeyed through the days,
Thankful all was well,
I couldn’t see the darkness looming,
Or when my countenance fell.
Before I knew it, I had fallen,
As low as one might fall.
All I could feel was my heart broken,
With no hope left at all.
I knew in Him I could find strength,
Through loss or pain or death.
But I didn’t see this one coming,
And found it hard to catch my breath.
The best laid plans we hope will prosper,
But there is never a guarantee.
I knew I’d not have to fight alone,
From the Highest Authority.
He didn’t promise a life of ease,
And He told us trials would come.
The hardest lesson for me to learn,
Was not my will, but Thine be done.
So now I wake up daily,
And ask for grace, just for today.
I can’t control what was, or will be,
But for wisdom, I humbly pray.
As I continue in this valley,
I know one day it will end.
And I’ll stand again on the mountaintop,
As promised by my Best Friend.
He must have something for me to learn,
And for shed tears, He has a reason.
So with that hope I will endure,
As to everything, there is a season.

The rhyming words were well chosen.
Sometimes getting the right line length and finding the right rhyming words make poems difficult for many (ME as one)
Story of hope well written and easy to read.
Loved it.
God bless~
