Too bad she lived in life in the dark,
She thought others were fearful of her,
The thought they laughed just didn't occur.
This lady had always been a big bully,
Though her loved ones understood fully,
That inside her soul she was just afraid,
Because of what her childhood was made.
As she grew older her friends seemed to flee,
Tired of what they perceived her to be,
Years went by and left a few only,
Finally one day she ended up lonely.
Wondering just where her friends had gone,
And why of a sudden she felt so alone,
She sat in her rocker and began to pray,
Asking the Lord to show her the way.
God spoke to the lady with the big bark,
And said her actions were just too stark,
Then He filled her heart with great peace,
Suddenly her mind felt a warm release.
Now this lady has friends again,
Her soul is no longer living in pain,
Such a sweet spirit she has inside,
One that she no longer has to hide.
This lady's bark was worse than her bite,
Fear held her hostage from morning till night,
Jesus showed her a new way to live,
To love and have faith and how to forgive.

I loved this classically pulled together, tender and truthful poem.
Very nicely done! Excellent. You made my heart smile.
God bless~
I admit I'm tone deaf and can't always here rhythm and rhyme. However, I found some of the rhymes a bit forced and had to reread the line to understand. It could just be me though. Once I reread it and understood it, I found myself nodding my head.
I could definitely feel the pain of the MC. You did a great job of covering the topic. The message is a powerful one too. The ending was perfect. Great job.
