Round-bellied bees buzz their pleasure
In stealing nectar from bright flower faces,
Opened wide in welcome to the sun.
Birds, great and small, flap their wings
In a soar of sound across the sky.
Little creeks burble merrily
As they rush downhill in their narrow beds.
Waterfalls slide down rocky ledges,
Crystal droplets in soprano chorus.
Gnats and mosquitoes croon,
Swarming in tune together.
Delicate butterflies flutter about
With softly whispered vibrations.
Ocean waves lap in a steady rhythm,
Pounding to crescendo
When winds sing across the water.
Raindrops thrum and drum
A rhapsody upon the windowpanes.
Breezes whistle through the trees
With unworded invitation
For leaves to dance along with them.
Thunder mutters intermittently
With sometime low murmurs,
Occasional rumblings,
And explosions of roaring crashes.
I hum along with nature
In hymns of praise to the Almighty One.
We are part of God’s creation,
Performing together our symphony to Him,
A never-ending song without words.
The earth is humming.
