Splash!
Waves of pain crash on board
I am rocked from side to side
Misery has stolen my compass
I am adrift, O Lord!

Splash!
Time and money seeping out
Frustrated howls fill the air
I taste anger on my tongue
Hear my cry, O Lord!

Splash!
Fear and Worry join me
With whispers of danger and disquiet
Doubt moves around so much
Lord, help me keep my balance!

Splash!
More unease pools on board
Clouds are gathering and the sky is dark
I feel Cold creeping…
Set alight my heart, O Lord!

Splash!
Weariness has entered
Fatigue is trying to take over
Take the oars, O Lord!
And right this vessel.

Splash!
Courage climbs on board
And Faith is now out in front
Your Word goes forth!
And my spirit starts to stir.

Splash!
I am buffeted from all sides
But Courage is my companion
Lead the way, O Lord!
And guide me home.

This is filled with the emotion that every soul experiences and will ring true to many folks. Jesus is our source of strength and hope and courage. It has good rhythm and rhyme, good message, conflict and resolution, and something every one can relate to. What's not to like? Good Job.

I love the way this makes me feel inside. Love the part of "Courage climbs on board." You have a mighty way with words and this is just lovely.

Great!

I really enjoyed this. I thought it might be Jonah's story, but as I read on I realized it could be almost anyone's story. You did a wonderful job of going from the dark into the light and safety of Jesus.

This is moving. How often misery can steal away our compasses! Yet you conveyed a wonderful message of hope, brought to life through rich descriptive lines.

I love that He answers the prayers and helps us through the splashes in our lives. Your message is beautiful here. Your use of "splash" was so effective.
