When God will tie our hearts as one
When you and I to each belong,
A unity this day’s begun—
Our love’s the tie until we die
The two of us now bound as one.
Before our God our love we vow
And tie the knot with bands of gold
To ever keep the pledge of now
Though troubles come our love will hold—
Our love’s the tie until we die
The two of us—one heart and soul.
There’s previewed in this marriage rite
A greater union yet in store
The bride of Christ all dressed in white
A day His saints are longing for—
His love’s the tie until on high
We’re joined to Him for evermore.
Let us rejoice with joy-filled souls
In celebration here today
For He Whom life and death controls
Does through this joyful day convey
His love will tie until on high—
The greatest ever wedding day.
