and stretches its golden arms across the land
I seek You
And while dancing stars still blink beyond my window
I hear You
From the pages of my Bible Your words come alive,
Because I am moved by them,
I am compelled to share them
Whether I spark the tiniest flicker or
ignite a lifelong of burning desire in someone’s heart
is not my concern--I leave that to You
Repeating what I learn is my goal
Each time I feel Your presence
a new strength motivates me
to spread the news of Your many provisions
and how they keep us from
crumbling under the weight of any day;
Like a child chasing butterflies I
run about singing praises of Your goodness
so others may experience the tender,
unconditional love that I have come to know;
Each miracle specifically gifted to me
must be retold to this hope-hungry, bewildered world
By testifying, others will know of Your greatness
Over and over again humble me
until I understand pure servant hood
Remind me that when I tend to others
I’m serving You
Help me gently persevere when met with
stubborn attitudes until frost-bitten hearts
are warmed by Your scripted words;
In the sharing of raw feelings from the pages
of my journal, let hearts begin to open
and discover the joy of You
May I never tire of reiterating how much
Your love changes lives
When the time comes for my homecoming--
Overwhelming peace and joy
will indescribably wash over me
as I am ushered into eternity;
And just maybe one of the saints I meet
will repeat a story I shared
which helped him choose
a different path--the right one
that led him to his Savior;
The Bible is rich with examples
of how to live godly lives
and in the sharing, souls are saved.
