Topic: Don’t Look Back (04/19/12)
As we walk daily through the world,
Tangled ways we must often tread;
Though darkness is falling and weariness calling,
Still we are standing and pressing ahead.

When life brings disappointment,
And our hopes feel distant and dead,
The trials come flashing, our dreams all go crashing,
Still we are standing and pressing ahead.

Some days may be easy, our thoughts growing lax,
And by frivolous paths we are led;
Though tempted to stray, take an easier way,
Still we are standing and pressing ahead.

The Lord Jesus, our Savior
Walked the way before us, as He said;
The Christ of the cross would suffer the loss,
Yet He kept standing and pressing ahead.

Because of His love, we will go on,
Because of His blood that was shed;
His face like a flint, as onward He went,
Standing, still standing, and pressing ahead.

Our journey will end in His presence;
By His power and grace we are led.
With His joy we are moving, with His love we are loving,
As we keep standing and pressing ahead.

Enjoyed your poem. Nice job making a very good point...standing and keep going forward. How many get stuck, as it were, in the hurts of the past. Jesus has a wonderful future for all.

I love the message in this. I loved the line...our dreams all go crashing. We've all had shattered dreams and this poem is certainly an encouragement. God bless!

This is beautiful. I especially liked the repetition. Though I'm not very musical, I could really see this as a song. I could even make out a melody in my head as I read it. Soft and soothing.

Much depth put across within a poem. I think many of us can identify with what you have written, especially when life brings disappointment and hopes feel distant. Most assuredly we must press ahead and not let our past hinder our future. A very well written piece!
