Trucks crunch flesh into metal, heaven invites me home
Ephemeral bursting eternal: pearl, glittering stone.
Opalescence so blinding, reception I couldn’t have known
Gates of heaven unending, alluring, angelic, and oh,
Love swallowed me whole
Sweet, ex-al-ta-tion, but—
All of a sudden I’m choking, wheezing and gazing at bones
Crushed metal embedded and smoking, I have left my holy home.
Frightened, aching, disabled, can’t see reason for having been shown
Triumphant brilliance and dazzle, to be shoved back broken and torn,
Unending pain
Sharp, trans-for-ma-tion.
Tried to be selfish and stingy; withdrew and hardened my thought
Though I’d stood in the clouds of glory, account of this—I would not!
Until a blessing from heaven, dear friend who called me a fool
Said, “It’s about denying, yourself, it’s not about you,”
I got it then
Pure, re-ve-la-tion.
Told my story to those whose, paths I happened to cross
Of plastic crisp and loosened, placed over me, a life that was lost.
But prayers of multiple thousands, were answered by God that day
Jehovah Rapha, healer, aroused my heart again,
Renewed my soul
Sweet, Trans-for-ma-tion.
Insanity, delusions of grandeur, many would scorn in fear
Excepting exceptions enlightened, who said, “Bless you; it’s what I needed to hear.”
Now I suffer unspeakably; pain and glory flow side by side
But through my story’s telling, His splendor’s unable to hide,
I will return,
Sharp, il-lum-in-a-tion.
My life’s a type of unlikeness, between earth and heaven’s renowned
Density, blackness, confining, open gateway, calm, unbound.
Everlasting will eclipse impermanence; of this I haven’t a doubt
Endless aching ephemeral, by heaven’s infinite crown,
Thy will be done
Pure, al-lev-i-a-tion
Pure, al-lev-i-a-tion.
