“Honey, I’m not sure. God’s the only one Who can answer that.”
“Can I use the computer to ask Him?”
“Let’s pray first.”
“I have already. Maybe He’s busy. If I send Him a message He can take His time writing back.”
Oh, Lord, what do I do? Using the computer will give me time too - to think.
“Okay, at bedtime; He can write back while everyone sleeps.”
Lord, help!
DEER GOD WY DID MY DADDY GO WAY
“Okay, let’s say your prayers.”
“God, I sent You a message on the computer. Please write back. Bless Mommy and help her find a job. If it was my fault Daddy left you don’t have to write back. Amen.”
“Honey, I know God will answer that. I love you. Good night.”
“Can you leave the light on?”
Thank you for showing me what to write. May this truly be from You.
MY SWEET CHILD, IT WAS NOT YOUR FAULT DADDY LEFT. IT WAS HIS FAULT. I LOVE YOU AND YOUR MOMMY. AND I’M NEVER TOO BUSY TO TALK WITH MY CHILDREN. SIGNED, GOD
“Mommy, God wrote back and said it wasn’t my fault!”
“That’s wonderful! Now get ready for daycare, the van will be here soon.”
“Can I write to Him again tonight?”
“I think so.”

Oh, God, how am I going to answer that? You’re right, I can’t. You are writing this, not me.
“That’s a hard question. It might take God longer to answer that one, let’s pray and hit the sack.”
“Dear God, I hope that question wasn’t too hard for You. Do You understand how much it hurt Mommy and me when Daddy left? Good night God and sleep tight. Oops, that’s right, You don’t sleep. Bless Mommy and me and thanks again. Amen.”
“Amen.” How this child makes my broken heart laugh!
Glancing over her shoulder, she winks, removing her hand from the light switch.
“Thanks, Mommy. I love you.”
“I love you, too, Sweetheart.”
Lord, speak so OUR child will understand and still love his Daddy. In Jesus’ precious name. You’re more precious every day!
MY CHILD, I WILL TRY TO ANSWER SO YOUR LITTLE HEART CAN UNDERSTAND. SOMETIMES PEOPLE MAKE DECISIONS WITHOUT THINKING VERY HARD AND THEY DO WRONG. ONE DAY YOUR DADDY MAY REALLY THINK HARD ABOUT LEAVING YOU AND MOMMY AND MAYBE WISH HE HADN’T GONE AND MAYBE HE SHOULD COME BACK. I WISH HE HAD NEVER DONE WHAT HE DID. IF HE DOES COME BACK THEN HE WILL HURT THE OTHER WOMAN AND KIDS. SIGNED, GOD.
“Mommy, I’m really going to have to think about His answer. I never thought about Daddy leaving the other kids and hurting them too. I’m confused.”
“So am I, Honey. Oh, there’s the van, quick. I love you.”

“He wants you to ask Him anything you want, whenever you want.”
“Dear God, it’s me again. I wrote you once more. Please answer. I really want to know.
Thanks for letting Mommy find that job today. Good night and amen.”

“I love you, too.”
MY CHILD, I LOVE YOU AND MOMMY, DADDY AND THE OTHER WOMAN AND HER CHILDREN ALL THE SAME. IT HURTS ME WHEN PEOPLE DO BAD THINGS, IT MAKES IT HARD FOR ME TO TALK TO THEM BUT MY LOVE NEVER CHANGES. SIGNED, GOD.

“Honey, you talk to Him through prayers already and He can talk to your heart, like He just did.” Thank you, Lord.

“You can turn the light off tonight.”
Lord, please don’t let me hug my child too hard.
