Yackety-yack yack, do talk back.
Is it what I think?
Psst! What I know should never go
Beyond your kitchen sink.

Hereís the scoop, youíre in the loop,
But keep it under wraps.
What I heard from one little bird
Would make a turtle snap.

Breaking news, hereís my view,
This is my opinion.
No! Yes! Hereís my guess.
I know you can depend on,
What I say, and by the way,
Thereís more to let you in on.

Chatty Chatty Chat, from under my hat,
Have you heard the latest?
No he didnít, yes he did!
Why, this is just the greatest.

Thereís no way! No, itís true,
I heard the other day.
Tell me more, but Iím very sure
It went the other way.

Itís true, itís true, I know itís true,
My source is quite reliable.
His face was straight, heíd hesitate,
If what he said was libel.

I could be wrong, so quote me not.
Perhaps, I shouldnít say.
It could be black, or maybe white,
Perhaps a shade of gray.

Iíve told no one but you, so far,
Itís supposed to be a secret.
So, youíre the only one Iíll tell,
I know that you can keep it.

You chose to spread real juicy news
Because it was so easy.
But now you find you canít get through,
The grapevine line is busy.

While you wait to propagate
Something you were told.
Give heed to words that youíve just heard,

ďPlease hold.Ē

This was a cute poem with some great points.

Very cute. I loved the double meaning of "Please Hold"
Scarlett Farr 11/09/10
loved the snappy pace of this poem. And it got to the heart of the topic in a cute way.

Great title, great message, enjoyable to read...a well-written poem. I think the verse with the five lines through the cadence off a smidgeon but it recovered nicely (but it could just be me too and the way I read it). The rhyme and rhythm were strong.
