Travelin’ round
On a trip
Down in Mexico
She was close
Breathin’ soft
In my ear
At the Studio
I was young
Foolin’ round
To the songs
On the radio
She was dark
Dance-n close
On my arm
In my bungalow
Life flies straight
north-n-south
not a noise
till the fan explodes
And then crash
on a dime
with a pinch
from the Holy Ghost
To get nipped
on my pride
and my race
let me realize
Had to change
open eyes
and my mind
for the way to go
Then a thorn
Nice and sharp
Pricked my heart
And it’s cardio
She cried no
Had to go
Said she won’t
Date no beefalo
Had to stop
Catch my breath
Saw my skin
Down in Mexico
Let her bounce
Mumbled ouch
Stood in mute
To the audio
Life flies straight
north-n-south
not a noise
till the fan explodes
And then crash
on a dime
with a pinch
from the Holy Ghost
To get nipped
on my pride
and my race
let me realize
Had to change
open eyes
and my mind
for the way to go
Quit my wine
Lost my Rhyme
On my way
To my daddy’s church
Sat alone
Left my pride
Cold outside
In the Dodge I drove
Found the pew
Cleared my throat
Spoke a prayer
And I made Him Lord
Shed my shirt
Freed from sin
Got some Son
On my lighter skin
Life flies straight
north-n-south
not a noise
