May it be, in the depth of my soul,
That all Thy works I be made to know.
In time yet to come be made to see,
By Your holy hands were all set free.
You fulfilled the law and the life of man,
By Your grace alone am I made to stand.
Seeking, ever watchful for that shining light,
A guiding path to Your way that I might,
In hope that the faithful, on that far off day,
Sing praise for Your strength along the way.
Eternity standing as a dream come true,
As I kneel to the ground and weep before You.
The path I travel, a dark and lonely road,
But along the trail You bore my load,
In toil and pain I walk in Thy sight,
Stumbling often when I step from Your light.
My soul cries needless at every worry,
For there beside me is Your great mercy.
My walk, seeking fulfillment in the world,
Darkened by want of dreams unfurled.
Power to stand in my own might, cast down,
Given way to meekness, to ware a crown.
In toil I walk the lowly road of men,
The race I have run to a righteous end.
The road less traveled, I seem to walk alone,
But Your hand is near as youth to my bones.
Weeping over much along fulfillment's way,
Your love like a balm in words as You say,
Well done My precious and faithful child,
Come, rest and dine with Me a while.
