Our lives are full of beginnings. From the start, we enter into this world at birth. When we are born, we enter into a completely new world. We go from the comfort of our mother’s womb entering into a world at the beginning, which we are totally dependant on our mothers. We depend upon our parents for our comfort of being fed, clothed, and kept warm in the childhood years.
Each day is a new experience. Each twenty-four hours is a new encounter in our lives. We go through learning as a child to entering relationships with our parents and our siblings that are raised with us. As we grow we go into our stage of learning which is school. For most of us, we are in school for thirteen years. In those thirteen years, we enter into new friendships with teachers and classmates. Somewhere in the eighth or ninth grade, we find that we enter into relationships with the opposite sex. We think we have been swept off our feet and that is just the beginning of more to come, later in life.
When we turn eighteen, we enter into our adulthood. We have finished high school and some of us have started college. We have entered into another stage that we are now responsible for ourselves. We no longer fall under our parents. What decisions we make now we have to live with. Now we are coming into finding jobs for ourselves. We have built new friendships with our co-workers and bosses.
We are now ready to enter into a more meaningful relationship with someone who that we love dearly. We have crossed the threshold into marriage, which should last the rest of our lives. Now speaking of thresholds, we have entered into agreements to buying a home for ourselves. Over the next fifty or sixty or so years of our lives we will have found that we have entered into many new things before coming to an end in our lives.
I hope that in the many years that we have entered into new relationships, we have entered into one with our Lord and Savior. When our life here on earth is over we that know Christ, will enter into a place far better then we have ever known. When we die we will go to a home called Heaven, a place full of new encounters. What a wonderful and awesome day that will be for us that know Jesus!
