Yes, the weekly Challenge says "start". So, I turn on the computer, click on the "Start" button and ....well, that was forty-five minutes ago and I am STILL staring into a blank screen that is empty and completely void of words.
Checking my trusty Bible Concordance for the word "start", I am stymied again! There is "star, stare and stargazers", but no "start". So much for the Biblical angle!
Sure, I'm aware that "start" is the same as "begin"; and it can also be a "sudden shock or surprise" as in "awakening with a start"...but I'm still staring into space -and it's now two days later.
Hey, who am I kidding? My mind is blank, my brain power is 'out to lunch' and I lack imagination and initiative! Perhaps I can just wing it for a hundred and fifty words and tie for 33rd place! Sympathetic co-writers might even lavish me with accolades, applause and Kudos because of pity, or give me a standing ovation for copping out to my being nothing but dust....
"Like as a Father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him; For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust". (Psalms 103:13,14 KJV)
So, with minimum word count accomplished, this piece of earthly sod will humbly admit defeat...and return to write another day...
