Of the lily

Past the moments
Known beneath
The snowflakes
Patterned upon
The ground --
The lily will
Once again
Seek the sun
And its beauty
Will abound...

As the shades
In the meadow
Green
Arrive upon
Springtime's
Scene --
Lily on the rise
In purity
Will share
The day at hand
As winter says
Its annual goodbyes
To the earthy land
And the lily
On the rise
Will share its fondest
Greeting
With softened
Sunny skies...

In the moments
Of the birth
Of spring
Lily on the rise
Will with its passion
Bring
A dress of purity --
A sunny center
To share a smile
With all --
Stem of green --
And open-ness
To greet the day --
As lily on the rise
Gives itself away...

Then when the icy
Days
Have turned
To warmth
Of spring
Look across
The meadow
Of your life
And there
You will discover
Blessings of
The finest beauty
And passion
Which the lily
On the rise
Does bring...
