Scene 1: Daughter (age 5) is sitting on the bed putting on rubber boots and a rain coat
Announcer: Welcome to the Angel Broadcasting Network. Stay tuned for “Those Curious Creations” as we follow the amazing adventures of one the Creator’s children.
Host: (holding microphone, quietly, like in a nature show voiceover) Welcome! I’m your Heavenly Host for “Those Curious Creations”. Notice as the young one gets dressed on her own, putting the boots on the wrong feet. The creations are so innocent at this age. Let’s watch and see what happens next.
Daughter: Mommy! I’m ready!
Mom: For what, Sweetie?
Daughter: To go out in play in the puddles. You said it was spring. Teacher said in the spring we can put on boots and play in the puddles!
Mom: Yes, dear, it may be spring, but there’s still snow on the ground. When things warm up, I promise, we’ll go jump in the puddles.
Daughter: Yes, Ma’am. (flops on the bed, pouts) It’s not fair! It’s supposed to be warm in spring!
Host: Notice how the young one is disappointed. Surprisingly, though, she actually obeyed!
Scene 2: Daughter (age 10) is getting ready for church, still in PJ’s, Bible on nightstand, backpack and dress are on bed.
Mom: Sweetie, don’t forget to pack a change of close for after your baptism.
Daughter: Already did, Mom. Even remembered clean underwear.
Mom: Good. Sunrise Service starts in a half hour.
Daughter: (to self) I’m excited to be getting baptized, but I’m going to miss out on the candy. It’s not fair!
Host: (holds hand to ear as if getting a message through an ear piece) Yes? Party this afternoon? Absolutely I’ll be there! What? Oh… we’re back on… (clears throat). Yes, welcome back to another episode of “Those Curious Creations”. As you can see, the young one has grown, both physically and spiritually. She recently accepted the Lord as her Savior! It’s truly been a cause for rejoicing all across the Kingdom since we heard. Our viewing audience is invited to join in the party this afternoon!
Scene 3: Daughter (age 15) off stage, empty bedroom
Dad: I said no, and that’s final!
Daughter: But, Daddy! It’s the Spring Dance! Jimmy asked me to go with him.
Dad: Your mother and I said that you can’t date until you are sixteen.
Daughter: (stomps in, flops on the bed) It’s not fair! (sits up and wipes eyes) I know, I’ll just sneak over to Debbie’s house. She said I could borrow her sister’s dress from prom last year.
Host: News flash. One of our field reporters has just called in this bulletin.
Reporter: (from off stage) In an answer to parents’ prayer for protection of their daughter, the trellis has been loosened on the side of the house, making it unsafe for the daughter to climb out the window. We need to wait and see if she notices it, or if her rebellious spirit will ignore it.
Daughter: (climbs out window and falls)
Dad: What was that noise?
Daughter: Daddy! I think I broke my ankle.
Scene 4: Daughter (elderly) snuggled up under the blanket on the bed
Host: Thank you for joining us for our final episode of “Curious Creations”.
Daughter: It’s not fair! It’s supposed to be warm in spring!
God: I know, my Child. You won’t be cold much longer.
Daughter: (gets her Bible and reads) “They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.”* (sighs) I’m ready to come home, Father.
God: Soon, my Child, soon. I’m preparing your place here.
Daughter: (closes eyes)
Host: (hand to ear piece) Yes, I’ll be right there as soon as I finish here. Thank you again for joining us. We have a welcome home party to prepare for now. Tune in tomorrow for a new season of “Those Curious Creations”. Good night and God bless.
