I had been searching for love for so long, but in all the wrong places. Like a wandering minstrel seeking an audience, I was desperate to be noticed - to be found - but in all my efforts to get it just right, I had created a very elusive goal.
"Love is out there somewhere, and you will find it", I told myself. "You just have to keep trying."
But the harder I tried, the further love seemed to slip from my grasp.
Then Grace came along.
To know I was so loved was almost more than I could bear. Here was someone who wanted to love me for who I was. Someone who wanted to know everything about me yet, strangely, already seemed to know. Grace accepted me for me. She understood my sorrows and shortcomings. She encouraged me when I needed it most, and I always felt so free with her, like I didn't have to be anyone. I could just be myself, and she loved me that way.
But the most awesome thing about her was that all the while I was out there looking for love, Grace was looking for me.
