this is the way we learn and sometimes we get burned
if the questions involve things like a hot stove.
But then, there are other ways to get burned,
like intellectually, and emotionally and financially.
Curiosity. Curio. A place to set things to be seen;
seen, not felt.
So how does curiosity kill a cat? Kill is most assuredly "felt."
How does "satisfaction bring the cat back?"
That is what the old rhyme declares to happen.
What satisfaction did the cat experience when dead?
Returning from the dead is resurrection,
and there may be some satisfaction in that,
depending on where you went after the killing happened.
There must be wisdom in this old rhyme,
it has been with us a long, long time.
I think it is to say what King Solomon advised,
"Just keep life simple, don't be overly wise."
"Don't ask too many questions, enjoy simplicity,
no matter what you do the same things happen
to you as to me, and to all who live; we die,
we leave it all and we remember it no more;
so live simply, but live righteously,
don't strive to be overly informed
of everything in life. It is better to
know only the good and the simple and
to enjoy them both."
Ecclesiastes: 1: 18
