Topic: Beautiful (11/07/05)
Never?! Never again? Oh, my God, never again to see the light of day? This darkness is closing in on me! Lord, have mercy! It was only for a few minutes. I just had that one little bit of welding to do. It didn’t take long. I knew those dark goggles were extremely important. But I had to find out if my idea would work, and the goggles were broken. How could I have been so stupid?

This burning in my eyes is terrifying. I can’t open my eyelids anymore! Oh God! Help me! I can’t even move my eyes at all! I wish my wife would wake up. I’m scared. I don’t want to be alone. Lord, what if I can never see her smile again? My kids?!

Eesh! I’ve got my alarm set for 4:30 a.m. to go to work. I can’t go like this! What if it is “never”? How will I support my family? What good is a blind construction worker? Oh, Lord, it can’t be! Have mercy!

God, if I’ve ever needed you before, I need you now. Please, touch my eyes and give me peace. Please, Lord… Please …

Darkness …

Silence …

Merciful sleep …

Beep! Beep! Beep!

What? It’s morning?

Yes! I can see! I can see! Praise God! Just look at that sunbeam! How gorgeous!

“Honey! Honey, wake up. Have I ever told you how beautiful you are? Let me look at you! Thank you, God!”

I picked this article to read due to the beautiful title,"Dawn Breaks The Darkness"..but it wife and alarm clock; wanted to see the sunrise in spectacular words...but it was moving and emotional. Very Good.
