Silent Reflections: What do you see?
What great discoveries are possible! Even those things not known to us as yet, have always been possible.
As we learn how to put together the natural elements, that have existed with us in our awareness of time, we learn how truly marvelous our world is in fact. What will come next?
Will there be cures for all diseases? Will there be interplanetary travel? Will we live for many years? I expect so.
The closer we get to the return of Jesus, it seems that some things will get better and some things will get worse.
We are born, then live in a world that both surprises us with successes and disappoints us with failures. We live in a world where in the sand keeps shifting under our feet and we continue to readjust. The fallacious notion is that, "When we retire..." we will have it all together.
Do we expect that the sand will then stand still? The truth is that it does not. The facts are that changes occur more swiftly and then when it is all over, the sand settles and no longer moves under our feet and a new cycle begins; one that we are told is never ending.
What might we expect when we get there, and what will be the name of "THERE?"
Some expect the name of THERE to be Heaven. Some expect THERE to be non-existent. I do not know of anyone who expects the THERE to which they go to be named Hell. That is because the warnings of Jesus Christ Himself go unheeded.
Jesus spoke of Hell as a real place more than He spoke of Heaven as a real place. I expect that is because He wanted people to know that He made the trip to HERE so none of us would have to go to the place called Hell; and so that all of us could go to the place called Heaven, that is, if we will call upon Him for the forgiveness of our sin.
Those who think that THERE is non-existent should reflect long on the fact that until you die, you canot be certain that nothingness is THERE.
It must be the most important question we could ever ask ourselves: "What is the name of the place where I will live after living HERE is over?
