Cardinals, bluebirds, golden finches, and robins flutter through the skies as rainbows against the azure canopy. Their voices echo against mountains and valleys with an anthem of spring. As Solomon said, "The time of singing is come, the turtledove is heard in the land."
The black bear stirs from her den with new cubs. Rabbits dart here and there. Wild turkeys strut and spread their tails. Squirrels run up and down trees with abandonment. All the animals are on the move with joy.
Ice chunks slide down the mountainside and melt into bubbling rivers and streams. Tadpoles scamper and wiggle into frogs that splash and croak. Spring nights cradle the warmth of the sun's rays and symphonies from insects and birds rock us to sleep.
The moon rises with a golden hue and stars spin their way through the Milky Way. The night drifts with fresh aromas of lilac and apple blossom. Another winter is tucked away. The dread and the damp of winter's day is behind us. As Christians, we are spring people living and looking for that blessed hope that is found in Jesus and His return.
