Topic: Blessed (10/11/12)
Blessings pour down upon me like rain,
Gone are the sorrows of unending pain,
No place in me now for terror or tears,
My Shepherd chased the source of my fears.

Blessings abundantly shower my space,
With shining shimmers delivering His grace,
Saved from drowning in yesterday’s sin,
Peace from above flows like rivers within.

Blessings glow softly in amazing ways,
Lighting the path for tomorrow’s days,
Warmth spreads inside a lone empty heart,
Mending a soul this world shattered apart.

Blessings anew come with every breath,
As mercy and faith bring beautiful rest,
From a life longing for itself to be known,
No longer reaping the seeds that were sown.

Blessings so tender now fill up the soul,
Gently healing heartaches of old,
Now I can feel the presence of Him,
A smile in a spirit once darkened and grim.

Blessings of my Lord whispering to come,
Just as the last sheep to find his way home,
Lost, imprisoned, and at last found free,
For a good Shepherd gave His life for me.

I wish you could see me as I read your poem. I found myself shaking my head as a small smile spread across my face. I'm not usually a huge poem fan as sometimes I don't always feel like I'm totally understanding it. This week there have been so many more poems than usual and I think the reason why is because the topic blessed screams to be in a poem. Like poetry, blessings are a form of art. God strokes his pen as he writes the blessings he has prepared for us. You did a delightful job of translating that art form into the art form known as your poem.
