Throughout the years, the messages of the churches seemed to make a drastic switch from preaching on the judgment of God, to a message of euphoria. Both premises are true, but I feel they need a little stirring up. We need the full message which our Savior came to proclaim. The entire Bible was given to us as a guideline for our lives. We need to read the instruction book. Never rely on every word you hear, but check it out.
If you have been born and raised in the “accept Jesus, your sins will be forgiven and from this day forward, everything in life will bebeautiful, you have been left in a predicament. You may be questioning why certain situations have now entered your life.
Yes, there IS euphoria in knowing your sins are forgiven and you are free. But, sometimes our view of freedom is quite different than that of a Holy God.
Jesus says, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” He also tells us that “all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, and instruction in righteousness.
Now, let’s examine another statement which Jesus made. “In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.”
The truth is, when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior, we joined with Him in testing’s, trials, and the battles of life. We are not going to escape the normal tragedies of life. We are to be victorious over these trials.
This world will throw us many curves because we must live in this world and this is a sinful world.
Now here is the answer to your predicament. Put on the whole armor of God each day. Know that you are in a Spiritual battle, over which you will be victorious, providing you were sincere when you made your life commitment to follow Jesus Christ.
I can assure you that if you really made a heartfelt, (not just a mind felt) decision, you will find Jesus Christ all sufficient, not that everything will go smoothly in your life, but God will walk before you, hold you up through problems, give you more than human strength, hold you, and carry you through anything He may call you to do.
In His Word, He promises us,” there hath no temptation taken you but that which is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able, but will with the temptation make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
I have been through many situations in life, and have experienced many valleys, such as the loss of an 18 year old son, a granddaughter, who was brain damaged, and totally blinded because of a car accident, surgeries, and financial struggles, and I can testify that my commitment to Christ has been the highlight of my life, my total strength, and He gives me inner peace and joy.
We may experience road blocks, but if it wasn’t for the Lighthouse (Jesus Christ) where would this ship be?
My only real goal in living is to spend eternity with my Savior. What is your goal?
