“Alms for the Poor,” he continues to shout.
With tattered clothing, just about rags.
Sleeps in cardboard box and plastic bags.
With liquored breath shouting his plea.
Yuck - black rotten teeth so easy to see.
My Christian mind says, “I should help him out.”
On the other hand, “Get a job you dropout.”
Thinking, thinking, what to do?
Should I give him bills and maybe change too?
Probably doesn’t want a check or credit card.
Glad all life’s decisions are not this hard.
He is one of God’s creations, so account for that.
And it’s cold outside, he could use a hat.
With a warm coat he could snuggle inside.
Wonder if he’s hungry? Does he need a ride?
So sad to see, poor old thing.
Don’t think he’s married, not wearing a ring.
What Would Jesus Do? Surely give him some.
But I’m not Christ, “So Stuff it you Bum.”
