TITLE: BUT I HAVE WORDS SPINNIN' | Previous Challenge Entry

But I have words a spinnin’ around in my head.
I have all these animals to care for.
The cats are mewing
The chicks are chirping.
And the big black beastie, as
Lucky the family mutt is known as
Is busily away barking at the birds, the butterflies
And the Link Bus that is cruising on by.
But I have words a spinnin’ around in my head.
Jessica has home school tests to take,
Spelling words to practice
History to read
Science to experiment with
And new math problems to learn and solve
But I have words a spinnin’ around in my head.
The sheets need to be washed and hung to dry
The peas, chard and spinach, rhubarb and strawberries
All are in need of pickin’ and eatin’ or freezin.’
Supper has to made before it’s too late in the evening
.
But I have words a spinnin’ around in my head.
Jess wants to know are we really goin’ to New York.
Take Lucky for her walk for the house needs cleanin’
Since Grandma is going to visit tomorrow.
Perhaps the Idea will pass along with going to Alabama,
going to Texas And anywhere else under the sun
at the current moment.
But I have words a spinnin’ around in my head.
What should they become?
A story, a poem, a new song
Are they put there to be used to create something
Useful and new and joy to the heart and soul?
When do I find the time to take these spinnings of
Words that seemingly want to tumble around in my head
and compose them into something beautiful and
And brandnew?
But I have words a spinnin’ around in my head.
But what is most important is that --
I need time for my family,
I need time to take care of my home
I need time to take care of all the animals we have taken on
I need time for myself sometime in the course of this day.
But I have words a spinnin’ around in my head.
But most especially I need time to pray
and give thanks for all of the above
and all the blessings He gives to me daily
without me even stopping to ask Him.
But I have words a spinnin’ around in my head.
And maybe just maybe, when I
have sat down and finished all that
That I’ve listed above and prayed and listened
To my Lord’s heart through careful reading
Of His Word and prayer.
Maybe, just maybe--
I’ll learn what to do with all the words,
That keeps spinning around in my head.
