Thea thumbed through the pile of books and magazines. As she came to the bottom of the pile, she let out a sigh and ran a hand through her hair. Where could it have possibly gone?
The temperature dropped several degrees.
Thea shivered and glanced up, knowing Chelsea must be nearby.
“Looking for something?” Chelsea asked as she walked to the piano and took a seat on the bench, blue eyes curious.
Thea nodded. “My Book of Truths! I can't find it!”
“That's not good...” Chelsea drummed her fingers on the bench. “Didja check the van? In your bag? Amber's purse? The freezer?” She grinned.
“All of those places but the freezer.” Thea let out a breath but managed a chuckle.
“Hey!” Chelsea put her hands up. “My mom put her keys there once. Don't ask me why.” She leaned back on the bench. “You didn't leave it at church?”
“No, I remember having it when we came in.”
Chelsea blew a piece of blond hair from her face. “Well... I dunno where it'd be.” She flicked a hand into the air, creating ice crystals in the air. Thea watched as she stuck them together to form the shape of a book.
“There!” Chelsea crowed. “A whole new book!”
Thea rolled her eyes, but accepted the freezing cold statue with a smile. “Thanks. I still want my old one, though.”
“Of course!” Chelsea nodded. “Let's ask Andi. She might know where it is.” She bounced up and off.
Thea jangled behind her, necklaces bouncing on her chest.
“Andi!” Chelsea squealed as they burst out the front door.
Andi jumped, almost falling out of the hammock she was sunning herself in. She frowned at them as she rebalanced herself, spreading her arms out to reveal as much of her fuzzy white membrane wings to the sun as possible.
“Have you seen Thea's... uh...” Chelsea hesitated. “Important book?”
Andi opened her pale grey eyes, brows scrunched together into a scowl. “What are you talking about, ridiculous human?”
“It's...” Chelsea looked to Thea.
Thea jumped in to help. “A manuscript of extreme importance.”
Andi sighed. “Can't you keep track of anything?”
Chelsea huffed, but didn't say anything.
After studying the two for a moment, she turned down one side of her mouth and swung her legs out of the hammock. “We'll start in the van.”
“Thea already looked there,” Chelsea piped, jogging alongside her.
Thea trotted behind them, studying Andi's white hair.
“Perhaps, but humans have such weak eyes.”
Thea could imagine Andi's disgusted face.
“You're human-ish, ya know.” Chelsea reached out to poke Andi's arm.
Andi caught her hand just before it touched her, stopping her walk. She said nothing, only gave Chelsea a cold glare before continuing on.
Thea hid a smile.
Andi opened the van door and leaned in, giving it a thorough looking over. “It isn't here,” she announced.
“Toldya.” Chelsea rolled her eyes.
Andi ignored her and started up to the house. Her wings were already becoming a pale purple from just being around Chelsea.
Thea hurried alongside her. “Thank you for taking the time to help,” she offered, hoping Andi wouldn't change her mind about helping because of Chelsea.
Andi shrugged as she opened the front door and walked into the kitchen.
Thea followed, heart sinking as she saw Andi fill a glass with water.
Andi blinked at her, obviously seeing her disappointment. “You think I'm giving up just because of her?” She smirked and opened the freezer. She reached in and retrieved a handful of ice, then stopped. “What does this 'special book' look like?” she inquired, wings becoming gradually darker as the cold air sapped her energy.
“Like... A book.” Thea put her head to the side and moved to see into the freezer. Her eyes widened.
“I suppose that is it?” Andi plucked a book from the freezer and handed it to Thea. As she shut the door, she paused, studying the cover. “A Bible?” She frowned. “Your 'very special book' is this?”
Thea blushed and nodded as she clutched the book to her chest.
Andi shook her head. “You all are so strange.” She shut the freezer the rest of the way, shaking her head again. “Very strange.”

I was a bit confused by the characters; took me a while to figure out who was who, and I'm still not sure WHAT they were, or what their relationships were. And who's Amber?
All that aside--this is written in a charming style, and your writing is delightful.
