A red rose stood out among the other flowers. Its perfume seemed to float in the air over the garden. Then a purple iris looked so elegant as it lifted its head proudly above all the other flowers. It was indeed a very royal looking flower.
Yellow daisies brightened the garden making it such a cheerful place. Orange mums were guarding the entrance, protecting it from creatures that might want to nibble on the delicious contents.
Honeysuckle vines clung to the fence with a perfume that enticed creatures in the garden. Bees enjoyed buzzing around and flitting from flower to flower. Hummingbirds hovered and tasted the delicious nectar.
This was such a lovely, peaceful garden. Not many people knew about the garden or it would have been packed with visitors. The solitude drew me to this beautiful haven.
I loved paying a daily visit to this peaceful atmosphere. A calmness filled my soul. This was a place of great joy. I felt nearer to God when I was here.
How could anyone doubt there was a God with all this beauty to behold.
Early in the morning I came and enjoyed listening to the birds. Their songs seemed to float up as a praise to God and why not! They had a lovely place to live and plenty to eat.
Beautiful trees gave shade to the garden on hot summer days. They provided a haven for the birds who loved sitting on the branches calling out to one another. I could imagine the birds talking to one another about how good God was to give them such an amazing place to live.
Squirrels jumped from tree to tree. They performed acrobatic feats that entertained other occupants of the garden.
At first when I started visiting the garden I was in such a hurry. I had so much to accomplish. Gradually I spent more and more time in the garden. Each minute became so precious. My Father and I grew closer through these moments together.
Then I found myself running to the garden at other times during the day. At times of great joy I wanted to tell my Father what was going on, the joy I felt. I thanked Him for these blessings.
In times of sorrow or pain I knew my Father would comfort me. He was always there with His arms open wide waiting for me. I knew that I was special to Him.
I’m looking forward to the day that I can spend all my time in the garden. What joy awaits me to be able to be with my Father forever!
