TITLE: Snakes and Ladders | Previous Challenge Entry

Snake: My mother suffered a miscarriage following a farming accident when my father was pinned under an overturned tractor.
Ladder: Mother visits the Doctor because she is feeling unwell only to discover that she is still pregnant with me, and that she must have miscarried my twin.
Significant snakes: Near drowning, childhood illnesses and a more serious tricycle accident.
Bigger snakes: The loss of my grandfather, and grandmother.
Average ladder: Passed the eleven-plus examination for the Grammar School.
Ladders: Growing interest in English language and literature, particularly poetry, and music including the School Choir. Passed a good number of “O” level examinations.
Snake: Most of my friends left school at sixteen, whilst I continued further education.
Massive Ladder: New friends turned out to be Christians, invited me to their Church, and I gave my life to Christ.
Ladder plus. New Christian boyfriend, engagement and marriage just short of nineteen.
Snakes and ladders: Increasing involvement in Church, particularly Youth activities, but a much-wanted baby fails to arrive.
Ladder: Bible College and a return to Pastoral ministry in our home Church but I feel a snake coming on.
Huge snake: Betrayal and resulting marriage breakdown. Loss of identity as woman, wife and minister “Israel 1989”.
Significant ladders: New Church, new job and my own home “Behold I make all things new”.
Ladder: New husband and move to a new area.
Wonderful Ladder: Pregnancy, at last!
Bitter snake: Miscarriage: “The Lamb”
Nightmare snake: Mental breakdown: “All kinds of Prisons”
Small ladders: Christian Healing Centre, Music Group and new Church.
Ladder: Lay ministry training, with emphasis on Preaching, Pastoral and Poetry “The Plough”
Ladder: New job, working with adults with learning difficulties “In my element!”
Snakes/ Ladders? : Watch this space....ups and downs....but it will end with a ladder!
