It is so sad that this great and wonderful nation has ignored the need of evangelism. We as a people of God have erred and strayed from Him and His living Holy Word. To begin with, we have stood ideally by and permitted non-believers to remove prayer from schools. Now our own government is telling us it is not politically correct to speak out about groups that go against the teachings of God. We have no right to question alternative life styles being taught to our children and we are being forced to permit such outrageous garbage be spread to the fertile minds of our children and they are prone to believe such drivel and think it is normal. Do we need evangelism? I think so but who am I to take a stand against the establishment? I have no college degree and I am not versed in the teaching of Gods Holy Word. I am just an old woman who to some is crazy. We are like sheep standing ideally by being led to the slaughter. We are silent. We are children of God, creator of the universe. We are heirs with Christ. To me it is sad that we give Satan the power to do what he is doing to this old world and say nothing.
Can you imagine how Christ’s disciples would look upon the ugliness of today’s world? What would they think of all the missed opportunities we as children of God have let slip by us? I think Peter, whom Christ said he is the rock upon which the church is built, would be appalled. Granted Peter was brash and impulsive but he had a zeal for Christ and Gods Holy Word. Saul a Pharisee, who railed against Christianity, whom later became Paul had such a fervent zeal for Christ. He went boldly into the unknown and spread the living Word of God. Who will step into the shoes of the disciples such as Matthew, Mark, Luke and John today? We have been blessed with an evangelist of that stature Billy Graham but he is now very frail and of great age.
Do we need to get back to the basics? Do we need men and women that will stand up for Christ? Is it time for evangelism? God’s faithfulness can compensate for our unfaithfulness.
I think Paul said it so beautifully. “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two. I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.” Philippians 1:21-24.
To die is gain but I chose to live and spread Gods wonder Holy Living Word to all I meet. To God be the praise, honor and glory.
