“Class, settle down.” The teacher, known as ‘The Artist’, walked into the room and closed the door behind him; silence fell over the students as they gazed upon him in wonder and admiration.
“Today’s a great day for you. Over the next few months I’m going to teach you Creative Art. Then you’re all going to work together to create a legendary masterpiece for all the ages to see.”
Over the next two months, The Artist poured his secrets into his students. He was especially proud that his own son had been one of the five.
When the end of the month came, he called the class together. “Ok, I have passed on to you the true mind of an artist. Now it’s time to show off your ability. I want each of you to think about this one word-ART. Create the image that you see. When you all come back in a week, you’ll present your masterpiece to the class.
The students quickly and eagerly went to work. A week flew by.
Back in class:
“Ok artists’, the moment’s come. The work that you’ve done is about to change history forever. And it’s time to reveal your work. Let’s start with Mary.”
Mary walked to the table where her piece of art sat under a large blue sheet. She smiled and grabbed the sheet. “I call it “The Dance of Marbles”. She pulled the cover away and revealed a silver whirl-wind carrying beautiful bronze and golden-brown rocks. They seemed to glide through the atmosphere- a melodical ballet. “I call them comets.”
Everyone looked at what she’d created in silence. It was wondrous.
“Paul, you’re next.”
Paul walked slowly over to his table. “My piece of art is called, “Shine”. He grabbed the blanket and pulled it back revealing a large golden sphere of fire. The room was blanketed with warmth. The sphere put off warmth that made everyone’s bodies tingle with a wonderful sensation. “It’s what I call, a Sun.” Everyone started at it, lost in the wonderful invisible warm ocean that came from it.
“It’s my turn?” Aaron said. He pulled the sheet from his table and eight colorful bubbles rose in to the air. Each one was different in size and shape. They rotated around each other, like eight innocent children holding hands, singing as they skip in a circle.
“Marvelous” The Artist said. “It’s your turn Shawn.”
Shawn slowly walked over to his blanket; he took a deep breath and pulled it back. A vast field of lights and colors; it was the ultimate symbol of tranquility. “I call it a Milky Way.”
The Artist looked at his son and said, “Son, it’s your turn. Would you like to show us what you’ve made?”
The Artist’s son walked over to the table. He put his hands on the sheet and looked around smiling. He pulled the sheet off.
It was amazing. It was a globe. A civilization incased within glass. There were oceans, mountains, trees, and hills. There were tiny models of creatures, and plants, animals of all kinds.
“It’s beautiful.” Mary said.
“You’ve all created amazing and priceless pieces of art. Now, I am going put it all together, and we’ll present it.”
The Artist took the Milky Way and placed it in the center of the room. Then he took the comets and carefully placed them inside. Next he took the Sun and placed it in the Milky Way and positioned the 8 planets around it. Lastly the Artist carefully took the tiny planet in his hand. He looked at his son and asked, “Jesus, what do you call this?”
Jesus said, “It’s Earth.”
As the Artist put Earth close to the Sun, Jesus grabbed His arm. “I’ve one more thing to add.” He looked at his friends. “Watch this; now I’ll make it all come alive.” He blew on the whole finished work and the Earth began to live, the plants sparkled, the Sun breathed. It was more than beautiful.
The Artist placed it within a large glass box to showcase. He filled the box with a transparent black liquid called Space.
“It’s finished.” The Artist said proudly, “We’ll call this Masterpiece, ‘The Creation’. Now, let’s go present your work to the rest of Heaven.”
