ADD TO MY FAVORITES
I watched you come to life when I breathed My Spirit into you. I wrote sonnets for the birds to sing so that every morning you could hear, “You are not my favorite one. You are my only one.”
I watched you play in the paradise I made for you. I wrote bedtime stories in the stars so that every night you could read, “You are not my favorite one. You are my only one.”
I watched you fall far away from me, far away from the life I had planned for you. I wrote commandments on tablets of stone and then on your heart so that you could remember, “You are not my favorite one. You are my only one.”
I watched you as you waited for your savior. I wrote promises of salvation through prophets’ hands and then became those promises in the flesh so that you could see, “You are not my favorite one. You are my only one.”
I watched you as I hung from the cross. I watched you cast lots for my clothes and reject my love for you. Still, I wrote ‘paid in full’ in my own blood of mercy so that you could know, “You are not my favorite one. You are my only one.”
I watched you search for Truth and run past every false god. I watched you fall again, only this time you fell back into my arms, back into the life I had planned for you. Then I heard you cry, “Father God, You are not my favorite one. You are The Only One.”
