The same eyes had thanked the Father for His blessings, the same eyes had looked at the blind and given them sight, the same eyes had wept with sorrow at his dear friend’s grave, the same eyes had lit up with joy when that same friend stood alive, the same eyes had looked with compassion on all, the same eyes had warmly held little children, the same eyes had pleaded with the Father for strength, the same eyes had scolded the one who wielded the sword, the same eyes had beheld the one whose ear he healed, the same eyes had looked at his accusers without a murmur, the same eyes had pitied all who hit and mocked him, the same eyes had shone with brightness when he told the roman governor that he was indeed a king and all this was his Father’s will, the same eyes had said thanks to the many who cried for him, the same eyes had comforted all who wailed on his behalf, the same eyes who forgave the prisoner with the promise of heaven, the same eyes that finally opened up wide into the heaven above for one last time.
And finally the eyes closed in death. Eyes, that spoke sorrow and love, in the mission of the grandest nature.
But it was far from over. Three days later, the eyes opened in heavenly splendor and spoke of Love come down. A love so amazing, that it shut the eyes of the Redeemer, in painful death, only to open as the Conqueror.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
God bless you
