My brothers and sisters laid out the best of this year’s crop for his enjoyment. Never resenting our place in the kingdom, we had been doing our work diligently for ages. We provide so many things for the king’s people. Food, shelter, art…but they barely took notice of us anymore.
The time was approaching and I could feel an energy surging through me. The air was electrified. A song began to resonate from the depths of my being. I released it to join in chorus with those around me. Birds began to sing in counterpoint.
Just as the wind began to whistle around us, I saw the King coming. The crunch of our leaves below his feet provided a gentle rhythm. His smile lit up the sky. His presence created a peace around us that we had forgotten.
His hands had once shaped our kin into objects to be used by others. His enemies had used some of our kin to sentence him to death. But, they neglected to remember that he had created the tree of life. Now, we were going to sing and remind them of their King.
“Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.” (I Chronicles 16:33)

If the trees sing out in the Presence of the Lord, can we do less?
What else can I say but Bravo!
