It’s amazing how we look at something through the eyes of society and we don’t always realize it. The simplest elements of nature can be the most beautiful and the most profound.
The magnificence of a sunrise, the freshness of welcomed summer rains and simple beauty in the common daisy, God’s glory shines through within the everyday. How much have I taken for granted? What care have I taken of the common elements surrounding me?
I raise these questions as reviews of my values. I wish to seek out the kindness within a wounded body, to witness love emerge as a butterfly from a person who has only known hate, to unleash acceptance to all who have been shunned. Jesus walks among us in the shoes of heavy laden feet.
God welcomes us into his fold equally. He does not see skin colour or descent. He visions our hearts and the truth that we hold. He hears our words of regret and harkens our desire for humility. He greets us with arms of simplicity and truth.
Tomorrow I want to welcome the sunrise knowing that others are witnessing my same vision. I’ll sip the water and know that the summer rains have fallen from the one provider for all. When I admire the glorious gardens and trees reaching upwards, I’ll be conscious that this mass of glory is comprised of simple, common, singular beauty.
